Sippy Softswitch 1.7 (March 2009)
Version 1.7 of Sippy Softswitch has been released and is available
immediately to new and existing clients.
This new version of Softswitch continues Sippy Software's initiative
of offering ITSPs different VoIP products and services via a unified
platform. This major release delivers improved switching and billing
architecture, advanced routing and management features and a broader
set of supported business scenarios.
The major changes in the new release are:
- Multi-tier billing model enhancements. New
features that allow for additional business scenarios have been
added.
- Web phone support. The account self-care
interface now includes optional support for the Sippy Web Phone
application, allowing subscribers to make phone calls straight
from their browser.
- Top-up vouchers management support. The system
has been extended to support management of Top-up Vouchers for
Calling Card and other applications.
- SIP stack performance and compatibility updates
. The SIP stack now provides significantly improved
(30-50%) performance. Several interoperability issues with
third-party SIP products have been resolved.
- Security improvements. The web interface now
uses a new, secure database back-end that is safe from SQL
injection and other types of attacks.
- Routing engine and LCR enhancements. The
routing engine has been extended with several new parameters to
make it more flexible.
- New and updated translations. Existing web
interface translations have been updated and a new Arabic option
has been added.
- Exchange rates management improvements. A new
feature to update exchange rates automatically from Yahoo!
Finance has been added. The list of currencies has been updated
to meet the current ISO 4217 standard.
- New and improved XML-RPC interfaces. The
number of XML-RPC interfaces has been extended and several new
have been added.
- IVR application enhancements. The number of
IVR applications has been extended to provide additional
functionality.
